Donald  Ray Pelts, son of the late Byron Roger Pelts (Barney) and  Nadeen Hight Pelts, was born July 17, 1943 in Kennett, Missouri and  passed away  May 15, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Don married Betty Callis  on November 25, 1971, in Kennett, Missouri. 

Survivors include: Wife:  Betty  J. Pelts of Kennett, MO.

Two Daughters: Donnatha Pelts of Kennett, MO.

Lisa Coffer and husband Josh Coffer of Kennett, MO.

One brothers: Robert Dale  (Bob) Pelts

Preceded in death by one Brother, Ronald (Ronnie) Pelts and one Sister, Jo Ella Pelts-Harrell

Grandchildren: Hayden Faulkner (Mady), Graysen Coffer, and Maizie Coffer

Don served his country in the the United State Army during the Vietnam War. Don was retired from Maco Management where he served for many years.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Monday, May 18, 2026 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Funeral Services  will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 18, 2026 at the McDaniel Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.  Rev. Steven Scherer officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Hayden Faulkner, Tom Ryan, Jack Callis, Josh Callis, Kevin Rains and Josh Coffer. Honorary pallbearers: Don Jones and Dickie Pelts.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Missouri will be in charge of the arrangements.
