Don Lynn, of Kennett, Missouri passed away on July 2 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Arch Lynn and Effie Lea Trobaugh Lynn. sister, Myrl O'Neal and brother Lacey Lynn.
He is survived by his beloved wife Betty: their children, Cheryl Watson (C.P.), David Lynn (Julie), Damon Lynn (Arti), and Jonathan Lynn (Kelli): grandchildred, Matthew Cohn (Megan), Charlyn George (Michael), Claire Haney (Beau), Justin Lynn (Tori), Allyson Lynn, AJ Lynn, Devon Lynn, Ashton Lynn, Chloe Lynn, Aidan Lynn:
Great grandchildren: Jagger Cohn, Hudson Cohn, Fitz George, Grady George, Anna Lynn Haney, Will Haney and Mason Lynn: and his siblings W.G. "Dub" Lynn (Theresa), Karen Williams and Dennis Lynn along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kennett.
He was born on August 5, 1932 in North Island, outside of Kennett. He graduated from Holcomb High School in 1950. He met Betty Moore in 1956, proposed after six weeks, and the two wed December 8, 1956 at Hemphill Baptist Church. Don and Betty began farming in 1957 with their first 40 acres. He loved farming and grew a variety of crops over the years, including cotton, watermelons, cantaloupes, soybeans, corn, wheat, peas, potatoes, peanuts and popcorn. Don has farmed continuously since, until his retirement earlier this year. He was the patriarch of a large and loving family: he and Betty truly enjoyed having a house full of their loved ones. He will be remembered as a kind and patient man who always had a story to tell.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be Sunday, July 6, at 3:00 pm at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Pastor Steven Scherer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
