Cynthia (Cindy) Lou Andrews, 72, of St. Louis, Mo., passed away in Creve Coeur, Mo., on December 23, 2025 .
She was born on October 16, 1952, at Kennett, Mo. A graduate of Senath-Hornersville High School and Southeast Missouri State University, Cindy had a long career as an educator, primarily at Robinson Elementary in the Kirkwood School District. Following her retirement from the public school system, she worked with the St. Louis Archdiocese.
Her love of education followed from her professional life to her personal life. As a mother and grandmother, Cindy instilled a love of learning in her children and grandchildren, taking them to the St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, The Missouri History Museum, and numerous other museums and historical sites.
A season ticket holder at The Muny for many years, she also had a lifelong love of music and musical theater. She involved her family in community theater with Family Musical Theater for several summers as her children were growing up, performing in such shows as "Fiddler on the Roof," "Annie," "The Wizard of Oz," "Once Upon a Mattress," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Anything Goes," and "Music Man."
Cindy was preceded in death by: her father, David Andrews; her mother, Virginia Andrews; and the father of her children, Richard Stevens.
She is survived by her children: Becca Stevens (Sam Hatfield) of St. Louis, and Ned Stevens (Maggie Stevens) of St. Louis; grandchildren: Caroline Christensen, Margaret Christensen, and Virginia Stevens; and siblings Barbie Pemberton (Jim Pemberton) of Senath, Mo., and Scott Andrews (Margie Andrews) of Senath, Mo.
A memorial service will be held at Webster United Methodist Church (Webster Groves, Mo.) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Webster-Rock Hill Ministries, 111 East Waymire Avenue, Webster Groves, MO 63119.
