Christiane Mary Louise McElyea, daughter of the late Louies and Lucience (Copp) Claus was born May 31, 1928 in France and departed this life August 12, 2024 at her residence in Wappapello, Missouri.

She married Grady Cleo Dudney in 1951. He preceded her in death. She married Virgil McElyea in 1972 and moved to Kennett, Missouri. He also preceded her in death.

Christiane graduated from cosmetology school in Nancy, France. After her marriage she came to America with her two children.

She opened a beauty shop in Kennett and worked there until her retirement in 1998.

She enjoyed many hobbies- painting, camping, fishing, square dancing, gardening and music club.

She is survived by:

Two children: Larry Gene Dudney and Shirley Marie (Ed) (Dudney) Maronay.

Two grandchildren: Steven and Chris Maronay and nine great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Eddie Maronay and Larry Gene Maronay.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM-2:00 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Burial in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
