"I'm a winner either way!"

Charles Wade Avants, son of the late Carl C. Avants and June Hurley Avants, was born October 6, 1947 in Dyess Colony, Arkansas.  He passed away April 27, 2024 at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 21 days. Charles married Donna Wiseman on November 26, 1968.

Charles was retired from the United States Army, having served 2 terms in Vietnam.

1 Daughter:  Cheryl R. (Timothy) Hooper of Yukon, Oklahoma

3 Sisters:  Barbara (Gary) Allison of Campbell, Missouri

3 Grandchildren:  Jack (Madeline) Hooper, Natalie (Austin) Leggett and Ella Grace Avants

3 Great grandchildren:  Henry Hooper, Dixie Grace Hooper and Charlie "Girl" Leggett

Charles was preceded in death by a brother:  Clifford C. Avants, 2 sisters:  Linda Foster and Bonita McNabb, 2 grandchildren:  Charles Caleb Avants and Haley Renee Avants, and 1 great granddaughter:  Junie Rae Hooper.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM-2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Pastor Mark (Trina) White and Brother Charles Clark officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve pallbearers are:  Gary Allison, Tim Hooper, Jake Hooper, Austin Leggett, Michael Patton, and Junior Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be:  Bobby Pender, Chad Roberts and Henry Hooper.

Memorial may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or VFW at Large.
