Obituary

Bobby “Bob” Ray Wilkins Sr. January 12, 1955 – November 4, 2026 Bobby “Bob” Ray Wilkins Sr., 71, of Hornersville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Born on January 12, 1955, Bob spent his entire life in Hornersville, Missouri, where he built a lifetime of memories with his family, friends, and those who were fortunate enough to know him

Bob was a hardworking man who loved the simple things in life. He found happiness in the fields, working on tractors, spending time with his dogs, and being surrounded by the people he loved. Known for his ornery personality, quick wit, and playful teasing, Bob always knew how to get a laugh out of someone. If he was giving you a hard time chances are it meant he liked you.

He was a man who wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, who believed in working hard, and who left behind countless stories that his family will cherish for generations. Beneath that stubborn, mischievous exterior was a man who loved his family in his own special way. His laughter, his stories, and his unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Among the many things Bob loved, his dog Scooter held an especially precious place in his heart. Scooter was far more than a pet; he was Bob’s best buddy, his faithful companion, and a friend like no other. The two shared a bond that words could never fully describe. Although Scooter passed away before Bob, his family finds comfort in imagining the two reunited in Heaven, with Scooter once again faithfully by his side.

Bob is survived by his five children: Bobby Ray Wilkins Jr. of Hornersville, Missouri; Melissa (Butch) Woodall of Clarkton, Missouri; Susie (Joe) Lawless of Paragould, Arkansas; Renee (Lewis) Howard of Cardwell, Missouri; and Sammi Jo (Ron) Lucas of Qulin, Missouri.

He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren: Deonna (Travis) Perkins of Senath, Missouri; Blane (Grace) McElhaney of Tampa, Florida; Austin Baker of Cardwell, Missouri; Haven Baker of Paragould, Arkansas; Jerry (Amber) King of Cardwell; Mary (Alex) King of Cardwell, Missouri; Kaylan (Ricky) Riley of Osceola; Taylor (Micheal) Smith of Manila; Breonna Adams of Paragould, Arkansas; and Gavin Adams of Paragould, Arkansas, Aaron Wilkins and Ethan Wilkins.

Bob also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, who were part of the legacy he created.

Additional survivors include his sister, Carol Purigraski of Utah; his brother, Roydon (Jordonka) Wilkins of Reeves; and many beloved nieces and nephews & Friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Freda Wilkins; his wife, Linda Kelly; his brother, Jerry Wilkins; his sister, Lisa Hughes; and his brother-in-law, Dan Purigraski.

Bob was never a man who felt the need to speak loudly about his faith, but he knew where he was going. In his final days, he told his daughter that God had told him he was going to Heaven. Those words became a precious source of comfort for his family, knowing that even as his earthly journey was coming to an end, he had peace about where he was headed.

Bob’s life was not measured by the things he owned, but by the work of his hands, the laughter he brought to others, and the memories he left behind. Though his tractor may now sit silent and his work here on earth is done, the love and memories he leaves behind will continue through the generations of family who loved him.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

Heaven gained a hardworking man with a mischievous grin, and those who knew him will forever have a story to tell.
