Betty Jo Shrum, age 84, of Kennett, Missouri,  passed away September 13, 2024, at Piggott Nursing Center in Piggott, Arkansas.

Betty was born in Rector, Arkansas to a large and loving family. She enjoyed her country music, cooking, dancing, bingo and watching her favorite show Walker Texas Ranger.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Betty (Jimmy) Nixon, Al Roberts, Ola Roberts ,Linda (Jay) Vickory, Patricia Smith and James (Amanda) Roberts

14  grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and her brother: William (Linda) Shrum

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Piggott Healthcare and Senior Living (Christi Baggett) Legacy Hospice (Billie) and granddaughter (Ivy)  for all the love, care and respect given to our sweet Mother during the past several years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, son: William, daughter: Barbara Jean, granddaughter: Kristin, son-in-law: Robert and siblings, Jurd, Pearl, Sonny, Wanda, Jim, Dean and Shirley.

Mom, may you rest in peace. You are forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Pastor Milburn Teasley officiating. Burial will follow in Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, MO. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be grandsons: Tyler, Clay, Jamie, Joshua, Justin and Jared.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
