Obituary

Betty Lois Morgan departed this life Monday, March 8, 2021, peacefully in her home.  She was 87 years old.  Betty was born Betty Lois Graddy on March 3, 1934, in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas to Robert Jesse and Pearl Graddy.  She grew up in Morganton Arkansas and moved to the bootheel of Missouri where she lived for over 50 years.  She married Floyd Morgan on April 4, 1951.  They settled in Senath, Missouri, where they raised their family.  Betty was an incredible cook and was known for her famous apple pie and southern style BBQ.  After Floyd retired early, they opened Betty's BBQ and fed the community in the Senath/Kennett area.  She and Floyd moved from Senath to Springfield, Missouri, to be closer to their son when Floyd's health was failing.  She was a long-time member of Senath Church of Christ and was known for her beautiful soprano voice.  She sang at many church functions including weddings and funerals.  She had no formal voice training; however, she had perfect pitch and used her voice to bless others many times over the years.

Betty is survived by her son, Ron Morgan and wife Lori, Springfield, Missouri; daughters Sherry Morgan, Columbia, Missouri and Sheila Goodrich and husband Mike, Nixa, Missouri; grandson Jeremy Burcham and wife Emily, Nixa, Missouri; granddaughter Mandy Coday and husband Connor, Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughter Lilia Morgan, Springfield, Missouri, who was Betty's caregiver for many years; and great-grandchildren Peyton and Zoe Burcham, Nixa, Missouri.  Also surviving is one brother, James Graddy and wife Sue, Christopher, Illinois and sister Hazel Flaxa and husband Bill, Las Vegas, Nevada.  She was proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years, Floyd Morgan, infant daughter Marsha Elaine Morgan, daughter Sandy Burch, brothers Ralph Graddy, Ray Graddy, Dale Graddy and sisters Lavada Haltom and Ruby Cullum.

Betty was full of kindness and love for everyone she met.  Her family and friends recall not one unkind word being said by her throughout her life.

The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice for their kind care and ministry to the family.  Services and burial will be Saturday, March 13, 2021,  11:00 A.M. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, Missouri, with Rev. James Graddy officiating. Burial will be in the Senath Cemetery.

The visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and continue until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Honored to serve as pallbearers:  Terry Morgan, Mike Goodrich, Rob Colvin, Terry Whitlock, Byron Small, and Scottie Jackson
