Betty Jean Gattis, daughter of the late James Moody and Lorene (Raines) Moody, was born November 11,1949 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on February 13, 2024 at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 2 days.  Betty married Jackie Charles Gattis, Sr., on September 28,1969 in Kennett. Jackie preceded her in death October 10, 2017. Dad is waiting for her at God's special place.

Survivors include:

Son: Jackie Charles Gattis, Jr and wife Christene of Kennett and his children 9 boys and 3 girls.

Daughter: Melinda McKinney and husband Kenneth of Kennett and their children: Roger McElhaney Jr., Mindy (Justin) Redden, Courtney (Will) Davis, Ashley (Daniel) Swims, Olivia (Tim) James and Kristy Brozak  and  grandchildren: Dakota, Jaxsten, Justin, Melanie, Alaina, Kerrigan, Kylie, Calvin, Elliot, Oaklynn and Paityn.

Sister: Shelby (Donnie) Thurman of Kennett

Two brothers: Jimmie (Donna) Moody of Kennett

Gary (Faye) Moody of Paragould

Betty was preceded in death by her brother: Jerry Moody and five sisters: Virginia Abrams, Pauline Moore, Luella and Clella, and Sue Ballard

Visitation will be 6:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday,  at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Richard Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Roger McElhaney, Sr., Roger McElhaney, Jr. Justin Redden, Daniel Swims, Eric Smith  and Joseph Todd "JT".

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
