Bennye Annette Wheeler, of Kennett, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026 in Kennett at the age of 86.years.  Bennye was the daughter of the late John Leon Alexander and Annette McCutchan Alexander.

Bennye married Roger Wheeler on August 20, 1961 in Ridgely, Tennessee.

Survivors include:

Her husband: Roger Wheeler of Kennett

Two sons: Roger (Debi) Wheeler Jr. of Kennett

John (Christina) Wheeler of Kennett

Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren

Bennye was preceded in death by her brother: John Alexander

 Bennye was a teacher in the Kennett Public School system for 32 years and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm Saturday, June 27, 2026  at the First United Methodist Church in Kennett with Funeral Services at  1:00 pm with  John Wheeler: Euology  and Mark Kailbourn: Minister. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Richard Edgington, William Mower, Brian Mitchell, Jason Rhew, Jeff Bazzell and Don Collins. Honorary pallbearers: Ralph Hemann, Ronny Brogden, Jerry Paul Combs, Russ McCain, Sherland Hamilton and John Sanders.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
