Becky
Sessums
January 3, 1951 – February 6, 2024
Rebecca (Becky) Sessums (73) passed away in St. Bernard's Medical Clinic in the early morning of February 6th, 2024 after a long and hard-fought battle with illness. She was surrounded by loved ones and family in her final days.
Becky was born in Kennett, MO in 1951 and graduated from Senath Hornersville High School in 1969. She married her best friend Benjamin (Ben) Sessums the same year, and together they had three daughters: Shelly, Veronica, and Aimee. They resided for most of their lives in the Arbyrd community, where Becky was passionate about educating the children of the area. She taught after-school programs and Vacation Bible School at church, and enjoyed a career as a teacher and director of Delta Area Head Start. When she wasn't teaching, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. She is remembered by friends and family as being welcoming, funny, and a great storyteller. She had six grandchildren who were her pride and joy in life. Becky was a member of Trinity Community Church for several years, and she was a loyal follower of Christ. Throughout her daily duties, she always carried with her a special copy of the Holy Bible, thoroughly loved and worn.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, George and Georgia Jaco; and three siblings, Floyd Jaco, George Wylie Jaco, and Dorotha Keating. She is survived by three sisters; Barbara Davis, of Elden, MO; Shirley Branum, of Arbyrd, MO; and Roberta Freeman of Kennett, MO. She also leaves behind her beloved husband, Ben Sessums, of the home, her three daughters, Shelly Tinsley (Stephen) of Paragould, Veronica Plunkett of Paragould and Aimee Sessums of Paragould; and her grandchildren Dylan Hurst of Bentonville, AR; Kyle Vincent of the home, Cecily Plunkett of Fayetteville, AR; Erica Hurst of Paragould, AR; Alexus Sessums of Paragould, AR; and Titus Plunkett of Paragould, AR—and furry front-door defenders Mac and Lucy.
Join us in celebrating Becky's life this Saturday, February 10th from 12:30-2:00 pm at Trinity Community Church in Cardwell, MO, followed by burial at the Cardwell Cemetery.
