Albert "Papa
John" Scott
September 5, 1932 – October 13, 2024
Albert Lee "PaPa John" Scott left this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday morning, October 13, 2024. He was a husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
John was a skilled craftsman working in drafting, HVAC, and construction throughout his life. He loved to tinker with machinery including all the family cars. He went on several construction mission trips to Brazil and Poland and ministered to storm victims in New Orleans.
He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict in the 1950's.
He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Lexington, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents William N. and Cleo Stumon Scott, and two brothers James Scott and Bill N. Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Geraldean McNairy Scott and his four sons: John (Sheree) of Navarre Beach, FL, Mark (Barbara) of Frisco, TX, Bret (DaLee) of Jackson, TN and Tim (Rosa) of Lexington, TN and a brother, Dan Scott (Phyllis) of Jonesboro, AR. His legacy includes 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. His life also touched numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews along with a multitude of friends, neighbors, coworkers and fellow church members.
Visitation will be held at McDaniel Funeral Service in Senath, MO at 1 pm, Friday, October 18 with a graveside service to follow at 2 pm at Memorial Gardens in Kennett, MO. A celebration of life will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Lexington, TN on Saturday, October 19 at 4pm. All are welcome to join us.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your local church.
